THE SHACK

The shack is a 2.5m x 2.0m room located at the rear of the cottage. The main radio is a Kenwood TS2000 which I use for 160m - 70cm Phone. I prefer ragchewing to contesting, although I have been known to enter one or two VHF contests, just for fun! The Yaesu FT 857 is used for 80m - 70cm phone and PSK31 through a LDG Z-11 Pro tuner. Also in the shack is a Yaesu FT8900 used for repeater and local simplex nets. At the top you can see a Kenwood TH-F7 handheld for dog walking and is useful on Raynet exercises when the weather's good. I use Ham Radio Deluxe for logging on HF and for PSK31. The mic connected to the TS2000 is a Behringer B-1 Condenser mic fed through a Behringer Xenyx 802 mixer. This audio set up gives pretty good SSB audio and is not expensive if you shop around. For more info on the Radio's please have a look at the Radio's Page.
